Physical fitness is the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness. Everyone has some degree of physical fitness. The level of fitness varies considerable in different people and each individual from time to time. It is considered to be slightest in the severely ill and maximal in the highly trained athlete.
Health and wellness involves more than just simply "not being ill" or "being well". Wellness includes activities, behaviors and attitudes. Wellness can be defined in seven dimensions of wellness. The seven dimensions are spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, occupational, environmental and physical. Health is the balancing and management of the seven component of wellness. It is much more that the absence of disease or infirmity.
Health and wellness involves the studying of the effects of physical activity on the body, stress management, developing a balance nutritional program, and developing a positive self image.
Also the effects on health and wellness of health problems such as the negative influence of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and substance abuse should be studied.
The negative influence and prevention of STD can be reduced by the promotion of sexual health. It invovles having a positive view of sexuality, getting information and learning the skills about taking care of your sexual health, and getting help to acquire skills to make decisions now and in the future.
